Information about the Stratford Chamber Choir

Within the immediate locality, we have been invited to sing by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, the Town Council, various charitable organisations and have performed a number of times in the English Music Festival.

Further afield, we have led services in Westminster Abbey, Winchester Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey, Beverley Minster and Norwich Cathedral. We have a long history of performing abroad including a number of tours to Burgundy and Paris as well as performing in Stratford, Connecticut and at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York. In 2004 the choir was engaged to perform in the Bach Festival in Combrailles.

The Chamber Choir was founded by Stephen Dodsworth and Tim Raistrick in 1993 and quickly established itself as one of the leading small choirs in the area. We have now become a choir of gifted amateurs working to professional standards.

The choir has been featured on BBC Songs of Praise and on Radio 3 and was honoured to be invited to sing for HM Queen Elizabeth II.

We like to perform a broad range of choral music, both accompanied and unaccompanied. We pride ourselves on our flexibility to sing anything from liturgical to folk, from early 16th century right up to the modern day.
